CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE
WHEN YOU CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK AT THINGS, THINGS YOU LOOK AT CHANGE
Dr. Wayne Dyer
With the holiday season fast approaching, who isn’t overwhelmed with things to do for our families, no less keeping our businesses up and running? It is a time when most of us quickly become overwhelmed and stress creeps in on us. How can we prevent this from taking place in our daily lives during this busy season?
It all begins as the quote above says – we need to change the way we are looking at situations and then the situations will change. What if we approach this holiday season with a sense of calm and well being? How would it feel to know that all will get done and there still will be time for you to relax and enjoy? Perhaps we try not to be everything to everyone and just do what we can and what feels right?
So many times we become obsessed with following all of the family traditions and doing everything exactly like it has been done for years past. Trying to follow the same routines each year just adds more stress and pressure upon us. In the overall picture, no one will remember you did not serve that fruitcake and baked a pie instead? Or did not go out and view the community holiday light festival?
When you are more relaxed and calm everyone else will be as well. Of course there are a few of those that will never be happy with whatever we do, so in those specific cases we need to know that upfront and plan for it.
This change of perspective also applies to our businesses as well. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with our workload, we can take a moment to sit back and be grateful for all of our success this past year and be grateful for all the work we do have. When we take that step back we can see that we can get it all done in a timely fashion and all will be well.
The power of positivity is a powerful one in which can be applied to all areas of our lives. Our society is so geared to drama and negativity that we get swept up in it and it invades all areas of our lives. When we change our attitude from negative to positive, the world changes right in front of us.
As part of your holiday survival kit, I have included five easy do able actions for you to bring in more positivity to your life and holiday season.
5 Ways to bring more Positivity into your life
We can all use more positivity in our lives. So where do to you begin? Right where you are – no need to make any changes
- Start by looking around you
Who is there for you?
What are you grateful for?
Gratitude is a awesome first step in becoming aware of what is surrounding you and what you have to be grateful for. Make a list and add to it each day.
2. Who can you help?
We all need help at times and so many people never ask for it.
Do you know of someone who could use your help today?
Helping others is a small way to shift your energy from yourself to others and uplift both of you at the same time.
3. What actions can you take that uplift you?
So many times it is the little things in life – a bouquet of flowers, a bubble bath,
a hot cup of cocoa or tea.
Start treating yourself the way you would like to be treated.
Many of us find it difficult to treat ourselves well. We think it is only for others to do this. How did you feel after treating yourself?
Treating ourselves well is an automatic mood booster no matter if is it just a cup of coffee or something larger.
4. Pay attention to your feelings
What or who makes you feel uplifted and positive? Why does that action or person
make you feel more positive and uplifted?
Spend more time with those who uplift you or doing things that put a smile on your face.
5. Create new thoughts and belief patterns
Take a situation you want to change and starting by writing various different outcomes
Think outside of the box.
Let your mind and dreams go for it!
New thoughts will lead to new actions which will lead to a more positive and uplifted YOU!
I hope that with this new change of perspective, you are able to enjoy your holiday season and celebrate your current success and plan for your future goals and successes as well.
