Well, this is the time of year for setting new goals and making changes in your life. Seems like everyone starts out well but on Dec 31st – how much success was accomplished?
Goal setting can be fun and not be overwhelming – the key is to break down what you want to accomplish into small steps and give yourself a realistic time frame to do them in. Yes, losing 25 pounds is doable but not in 3 months – so give yourself 6-8 months – take your time with your goals – enjoy them and the experience of achieving the baby steps along the way. One of the best ways to get to your big goals is to celebrate all the small goals you have achieved along the way. By celebrating your small achievements, it gives your positive reinforcement to keep moving in a forward and positive direction. When you do have a setback, it doesn’t seem as overwhelming and discouraging –
Everyone is so focused on instant results these days – we want everything to be fast, our food, our success, our relationships, our life – we are all on fast forward – but we miss so much along the way going at warp speed. If we slow down and enjoy the process it makes for a much more enjoyable journey and we benefit so much more when we take our time and enjoy our success.
Now that I am older (61) I have learned to slow down and enjoy my days, my goals and my life. I am no longer in a rush to get things done – they will all get done in the appropriate time and I am enjoying the process along the way.
So set your goals, enjoy them and keep me posted about your journey along the way. Please feel free to sign up for a free Discovery Call with me if you want some help.
